Find a journal

Finding the right journal for your article is an important step in your publication journey. A wrong decision can cost you considerable time and effort. Browse through our journals, read their publication policies, consider the speed and quality of the peer review process as well as the impact and visibility of the journals before finalizing your decision. If you still can’t find what you are looking for, don’t worry. Send us your paper and we will help you find the right journal.

Prepare your paper

First, get yourself acquainted with the manuscript preparation guidelines, publication ethics, peer review policies and other related policies of the journal. While preparing the manuscript, follow all the journal guidelines to maximize the chance of receiving acceptance. Submissions must be original work of authors not previously published, nor under consideration for publication elsewhere. Make sure that manuscript text and artwork adheres to the journal’s requirements. If you are not a native speaker, use professional editing services to ensure that the manuscript is free of language errors, bibliographic and stylistic consistency is maintained, and figures are beautifully formatted as required by the journal.

Submit and Revise

Manuscripts are submitted through the online submission gateways by clicking on the “Submit Manuscript” buttons on journal home pages. The submission portal will guide you step by step through the submission process. All Modestum journals require the names, affiliations, countries, email addresses, and ORCIDs of all co-authors to be entered during submission. Depending on the review reports and editorial evaluations, you may be requested to make adjustments or revisions to your manuscript. As a publisher policy, we do not intervene with the editorial autonomy of our editors. Our expert editors may decide to reject the submission at any time during the peer review process. Editors may also suggest an alternative venue for your paper.

Publish

Modestum aims to publish the accepted articles as early as possible. Authors are guided through every remaining step of the production process, including payment of open access fees, typesetting, copyediting, proofing, and preparation of camera-ready version of the article. All articles are then assigned a unique digital object identifier (DOI) number for easy citation. Articles are published online without undue delay in the first available issue of the journal.

Promote

All published articles are instantly made available to readers or libraries, free of charge, without any embargo period. Our journals follow the BOAI definition of open access. Articles are published under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution License so that everyone can download, read, share, adapt, or build upon the articles, even for commercial purposes, without requesting prior consent from Modestum or the authors, as long as appropriate credit is given to the original article. Authors retain the copyright of their own works. Additionally, we encourage authors to self-archive their articles in open electronic archives that conform to standards of Open Archives Initiative.
